  • A year on the green
Week 52 - 21st September
This is the last week of this annual record of what the Green team do over the year period. I hope it has opened your eyes and you have found it interesting? I would like to thank all the people that have appeared in the numerous photos for putting up with me snapping away with my camera I hope I have not embarrassed anyone? Next week of course the annual cycle starts again and I am sure all the willing workers will be helping out........

So on to the last pictures. Regrettably they will be only be of Monday's activities as I will be away on Wednesday and Friday but a few sentences will be given stating what went on.
Drag brushing the moister off the Grass.
Yours truly was cutting the grass Monday....
In a bid to eliminate a slight rise on the Green, on Rink 6 going up and down, core holes are being drilled.
With a closure inspection you can see the holes. After putting in these holes we then manually drilled angled holes and then finally finished off going over the area with the heavy roller.
On Wednesday and Friday work finished on drilling and rolling rink six. Needless to say the grass was cut twice and the banks had a cut. Work started on taking out the protective corks in a couple of the ditches which of course is the start of  another years process and the seven tons of top soil turned up in readiness for laying up the green. Here we go again!!!!!
