  • A year on the green
Week 18 - 26th January
Monday was a good day to work on the Green, NO FROST and REASONABLY DRY so it was a good time to get Big Bertha out again. I am afraid though in my hast to get to the club I forgot my camera.........however, although after the event, I did go back and take pictures of other work that went on.
The reinforcing angle iron went up and now the fence is good and sturdy.
The scoreboard is nearing its completion so in readiness for a coat of paint the old varnish was sanded down.
It's amazing how much rubbish and dirt gets in the Green's cork gullies so a sweep is needed now and then.
The Ivy seemed to be taking over behind the work sheds so a little cutting back was in order.
Having cut the Ivy down it now needs to be collected up and put through the shredder.
Wednesday started OK so was able to get on the Green plus other little jobs on the go............................
No, not a cut but a light brush to take up dead grass etc.
Even a mere mortal like me gets the odd phone call.....
Still shredding all the Ivy we cut down the other day. What we can't shred will be burnt.
The chippies are at it again putting the final touches to the scoreboard cupboard.
Not sure what Neville's doing, thought best not to ask......but they tell me it's ready for painting!
Graeme's making up some more metal brackets. This time for one of the sheds.
We all woke up Friday to some snow. Thankfully it melted by the end of the day.
Managed a little bit of work Friday. Cleared a graveled area so we can put slabs down.
