  • A year on the green
Week 24 - 9th March
I am afraid the photographer was AWOL on Monday so no photos. However, I am reliably informed that the team used the big eight foot roller on the Green followed by another session of scarifying. Also as can be seen from one of the pictures below the front porch has now been constructed and all that remains is for me to get the paintbrush out and touch up the odd places here and there.
Well here it is the finished New Porch cover and what a good job it has turned out to be, so well done Macolm and Neville.
Another job done is the replacement of one of the broken sprinklers.
Time to cut the embankment!
The grass was a little damp Wednesday morning so a brush helped to dry it out.
After I don't know how many times we scarified the Green a cut was in order...
Following the cut a going over with the motorized light brush to take up a lot of dead grass.
WELL, FRIDAY WAS A BUSY DAY...........................
Man down a hole!
Just to be fair to Graham, he is working on re-positioning one of the sprinklers and he seems to be getting on well with it.
Part of the side boarding has rotted so much the colored markers are dropping out so a replacement bit of wood is required to see the Summer Season through.
The Chippies are working on the replacement boarding!!!
Ha presto new board in place. Not a bad job I suppose.....
Before we started to put some grass seed down we did go over the proposed treated areas with the spiked roller.
We then applied grass seed all around the Green up to about 3 yards in.
Once the seed was down it needed to be covered with some top dressing to encourage germination.
Well, somebody had to shovel the top dressing into the wheel barrows....
The final bit of the puzzle was to use the drag mat to encourage the seed to drop in to any small holes.
Another little job was to erect a better barrier to try to stop whatever animal it is coming over this bit of hedge.
